Okay, so you can probably guess what this one means, but can you guess which flavor of football it is referring to. In Australia, when you say you are going to the footy it means you are going to an Aussie rules football game. What else could it possibly be?! Certainly not soccer – that’s for the Poms (people of English disposition)!
~Footy (pronounced: foo – dee). The key is to not pronounce the “t”. Allow your face to relax and let the word dribble out of your mouth.

The Aussie Rules footy season is already underway. I’m a Carlton fan myself, otherwise known as the blues! Can’t say that I have been to the footy very often and I haven’t even followed it for a long while (gasp!) but in my minds eye I can still see the footy guys in their tight, short, white shorts.
